FRIDAY DEC 7TH,2012

TGIF DAY TODAY....cloudy and minus 2 this morning...It was much the same 30 years ago and gas was 44.8 cents/litre and speaking of Litres...Wayne Gretzky already had a 28 point lead in scoring in the NHL and Montreal and Chicago were tied for 1st...the leafs were 2nd last.THERE WERE 21 TEAMS..we still have no season start yet. 62 years ago..Phil Harris had the #1 song on the pop chart with THE THING and the top country tune was Hank Snow's..."I'm Movin On" (N0.1 for 21 weeks) In 1941 the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbout. The last manned mission to the moon was launched by the U.S. in 1972...and for some reason in 1911 China banned PIGTAILS...of course there were many more PIGTALES in North America when THE MUPPETS started on TV. Christmas lights are turned on simultaneously today at all legislatures across Canada. With more lights, maybe the politicians can see what they're NOT doing. Basketball's Larry Bird was born in French Lick, Indiana, on this day in 1956. Larry was the NBA's most valuable player in 1984, '85, and '86. He's still history's most famous French LICKER NEXT TO Louis XIII. In Dallas on this day in 1961 Johnny Cash and June Carter appeared together in concert for the first time. They didn't marry, however, until 1968 when Johnny finally conquered a tranquilizer addiction. Then "they got married in a fever hotter than a pepper sprout." HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU MORNIN EVERYBODY...
