TUESDAY NOV. 27TH,2012
Mornin' everybody...Lots more snow...another 10 cm or so....total must be about 1 foot 6 inches total in the last 4 days...30 yrs ago...cold drizzly day..no snow.
On this date in . . .1582: William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway....we saw her cottage this past summer..gorgeous place. I forget the name of the HAMLET it was in.
1957: Brunswick Records released The Chirping Crickets, an album that contained the Crickets' hits "That'll Be the Day," "Maybe Baby," and "Not Fade Away." It was the only Buddy Holly album released during his lifetime. 1983: Stores nationwide were being besieged by shoppers searching for Cabbage Patch Kids, stuffed dolls with computer-generated faces. The pneumatic chicken gun was unveiled on this date in 1967. This marvelous weapon fires dead chickens at speeds up to 600 miles an hour. Honest.
It's used by the Canadian National Research Council to test airplane parts likely to be struck by high-flying birds. So on your next flight, you can feel secure in the knowledge that even the flimsiest parts of your aircraft have withstood the Air farce of a 600-mile-an-hour dead Canadian chicken...I miss Air Farce a lot.
Speaking of an AIR force...do you know how they cleaned the Enterprize from Star trek..they used Scotties little softies and SPOCK and Span.
have a great day...
