WEDNESDAY JANUARY 2ND 2013
HI HO HI HO...FOR SANTA AND ELVES IT'S TIME TO SLOW....HAPPY NEW YEAR PEEPS...hope you had a terrific New Years....May the best of 2012 be the worst of 2013. Our New Years Eve party went in one year and out the other as it should. Today is Happy MEW Year for Cats Day. Cats insist on holidays all their own. January was named for Janus, the two-faced god. Janus could look forward and backward at the same time similiar to how politicians have become two-faced.
General James Wolfe was born in England on this day in 1727. General Wolfe WON THE BATTLE OF THE PLAINS OF ABRAHAM. They both died in the Battle. The Royal Mint was 'founded on this date in 1908 and continues to keep the Royal Family's Breath smelling FRESH, as well as the PM and Governor-General. there is apparently a Frost Warning out in San Francisco and on this day in 1961 the temperature dropped to 14 degrees (F) in Haleakala, Hawaii. Which may not seem all that cold to some people. But in Hawaii it was so cold the natives had to make their grass skirts out of Electric Blankets.
Singing cowboy Tex Ritter died of a heart attack at Nashville's Metro Jail on this day in 1974. Tex wasn't in jail himself; he was there to bail out a friend...he wasn't from Texas either but from Idaho and who wants to be called."IDA RITTER" and IDA singing cowboy was already taken. On this day in 1900 Gramophone began manufacturing 7-inch, single-sided records in Montreal. A second side was added when protesters insisted each song be sung in both English and French and finally "The sounds of January are upon us: the crackling of wood in the fireplace ... the pitter patter of little Sleet on the window pane ...and the scissory sound of cutting up credit cards at the kitchen table....."
