TUESDAY APRIL 2ND 2013

Good morning Sunshine.....it's the tooth day of April and we're back to winter-like conditions with a minus 7 to greet us and a skift of snow, much like 1985 and 1992.  We had 3 straight days of snow in 92, so this is certainly not abnormal. It's WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY...so please help by spreading the word, and create awareness and tolerance for these great children. and turn on your Blue Lights to light the night.
ESPECIALLY FOR MY GRANDSON JOSH

MAGICAL HISTORY TOUR

IN 1860,on April 3rd, The Pony Express was set up to get swifter mail service between the east and west in the U.S. from Missouri to Sacramento California.  It was only used before the telegraph service was connected and only carried on for 18 months. It was credited with helping to keep California in the Union by letting them know Abe Lincoln had won the U.S. presidency in 1860 and the outbreak of the American Civil War in 1861. In later years it became a toy for Christmas giving with the Game "PIN THE MAIL ON THE DONKEY. :)

In 1871, the first Dominion of Canada's Census was announced as 3,689, 257 Peeps made up of 2,110,000 of British Origin and 1,083,000 of French Origin.

Jesse James was shot and killed in 1882 on April 3rd,by one of his gang members (so one story goes) in order to collect the reward money.  His mother use to say about his bad behavior, "oh he's just going through one of those STAGES. Some of the books tried to pass him off as a sort of a "wild West Robin Hood".  I like to think of him as a HOOD that ROBBED.

In 1877, The first Easter Egg Roll was held on the White House Lawn.  I guess the President was a good Egg.
In 1902 The "Electric Theatre" The first Full-time Movie Theatre opened in the U.S. In L.A,
In 1912, The "Titanic" underwent Sea Trials under her own Power starting on this date. The next day the head Chef was told not to order ICEBERG Lettuce but he ignored the order.
1931, the Toronto and Montreal Stock exchanges made Joint Ticker arrangements .  Coming just two years after the Stock Market Crash where a lot of investors Tickers ended up in very bad shape.
In 1965 the Provinces agreed on the Canada Pension Plan.
The Montreal Canadiens set a record of 34 straight home games without a loss in 1977.

In 1978, Velcro was introduced to the Market. "lets stick together" was it's motto.
The same day "Dallas" Premiered on TV as a 5 week Mini series. It went on for years with the Villainous J.R. Vs. Sue Ellen and Bobby always trying to COOK WITH PAM.
