Today's date seems to contain a Plethora of history information so let's get at it.
In 1536 the very interesting Henry the VIII ordered a Bible be placed in every church (right next to every ex- wives head I guess although that might not spark much interest in the Good Book.)

in 1851, Dr. John Gorrie came out with something he called "a Re-Fridgeration Machine, which left a lot of people cold and Linus Yale Patented the first Yale Lock (not a university Wrestling move by the way).
1877 saw Chief Sitting Bull Fleeing to Canada after he Bludgeoned General Custer and his 7th Cavalry and created the First Arrow SHIRT.
In 1889 the big event was the official opening of the Eiffel Tower and it's still an Eye full today.
Babe Ruth hit his first Major League Home Run on this date in 1915. (I ate my first Baby Ruth in 1957)
In 1937 The Hindenburg burst into flames and crashed coming into Lakehurst New Jersey killing 36 out a total of 99 passengers and crew for the first Atlantic crossing of the season.
Apparently the audio was pieced together later from the footage and the last part was speeded up somewhat as a result which made it seem even more dramatic. The announcer was from the famous WLS in Chicago
and his name was Herbert Morrison, who usually did live music shows. It's certainly one of the most famous pieces of audio every done. It was mimicked on an Episode of Seinfeld.
