Hi Ho, Hi Ho, Its back to a week-day we go.  Hope you had a terrific weekend.  Old Man Winter keeps WINTERUPTING our March toward Spring.  We had lots of snow 20 years ago, The Maple Leafs were tied for 2nd in their division with Detroit and were tied for 7th overall.  Gas at the pump was 49.9 cents in 1993 while 5 years earlier it was 45.5.  (there was a gas war and it had been 35.5 cents the previous day. The Tim Horton's BRIER continues out west.  I wonder if they buried a Timmies Doughnut (or donut for people who like to say it more quickly) in the middle of the house ring and then throw Tim Bits to see who gets it in the hole.

HISTORICAL HAPPENINGS:

In 1933 FDR's inaugural Speech the words "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself" rang out as he tried to be positive about the Great Depression. This is a very strange one....
The only person to have been both a Dwarf and a Giant, died on this date in 1950.  His name was Adam Rainer and at 21 years old he was only 3 ft. 10 inches, but shortly after that his height took off and by the time he died in 1950 he was 7 ft. 8 inches tall.  During that time he could not even stand up .

Ronald and Nancy Reagan got hitched on this date in 1952.  By the way Clark Gable had apparently had proposed to Nancy in 1949 but obviously that did not come to fruition.

Pierre Trudeau and Margaret Sinclair snuck away and got Married on this date in 1971 creating quite a stir in Canada.  Trudeau (the Trew with dough obviously).  They of course had 3 sons including the latest Trudeau who is currently
trying to win the Liberal Leadership.

I guess this is Justin out on the hustings with his dad a few years back.  Who says he has no experience.

In Durango Mexico in 1994  - Toronto actor John Candy died at 43 of a heart attack while filming "Wagons East on Location in Mexico... He was a 2nd City alumni with characters such as  Johnny Larue/ The Shmenge Brothers and Yosh : his films included 1941, Stripes, National Lampoon's Vacation " The Three Amigos! and my personal favourite "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" He was a comic genius.

Patricia Heaton is 54 (Everybody Loves Raymond etc), Chaz Bono (Cher and Sonny's offspring) is 43, Vivaldi (1648-1741 Baroque composer,  He was a big fan of
the four seasons.... except when Franki Valli joined them. Aren't all composers suppose to be baroque),   Miriam Makeba from 1932 to 2008) Chris Rea is 61 and Canadian Country Star Caroll Baker is 64...and Second City Star, Catherine O'Hara was born on this date in 1954 and is 59.

AND FINALLY....
